About

A scientist passionate about ecology and biodiversity management, I have - through my professional experiences - specialized in questions relating to the distribution and dispersal of species. I work on both natural migrations and human-induced introductions - leading in some cases to biological invasions. I am deeply curious about the causes and consequences of species movement, regardless of the taxon of study. So I had the chance to work on very diverse models: trees, birds, fish and today ants!!!! And guess what? It's still so exciting. You will have understood that I am a real science enthusiast and above all I love transmitting messages, discoveries and knowledge.

Graduated from a national school in Agronomy (Montpellier SupAgro), I specialize at the University of Montpellier (Faculty of Sciences) by obtaining the Master's degree in "Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution" course "Engineering in Ecology and Biodiversity Management" . After three years of research within the UMR ECOBIOP on the evolution of migration in a fish introduced in Antarctica, I obtained a doctoral degree in "Biology and Physiology of Organisms". Today, I hold a position as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne, where I work on the ants' biogeography and the consequences of the exotic species movement.

My studies and my experiences have allowed me to develop solid skills in understanding and developing scientific methodology, in project management, in budget management, in writing reports and articles, in acquisition and transcription of knowledge, but also in oral and written communication. I always show dynamism when it comes to organizing events, whatever the audience - from the most novice to the most seasoned. I am always ready to produce materials, host stands or even present research work at national or international conferences! I also have a great interest in the involvement of different stakeholders in the projects that I carry out, and I find that interaction with local stakeholders - and all audiences in general - is always very enriching. I remain deeply convinced that the multidisciplinarity of my background and my interests allow me to understand many man-environment issues, both from the point of view of the citizen, the farmer, local authorities, research organizations and other environmental stakeholders (e.g. hunting, fishing). As an ecologist and nature enthusiast, I have also developed very good field skills, capable, among other things, of telemetry (birds, fish), electric fishing and even forestry surveys.

I am currently engaged in a research project on the biogeography of ants in Cleo Bertelsmeier's group, but not only ! With other researchers, we are organizing the next conference on social insects which will take place in Lausanne in 2024. To find out more about my past, present or future commitments, I invite you to take a look at my BLOG (building in process).
